S2 System Overview
The S2 Security NetBox access control system is an IP based network appliance that is controlled from a browser based software. This S2 Security system allows for control of the access control system from anywhere on the network; locally or around the world. This system allows for up to 35 simultaneous users (administrators) at once. Unlike other access control systems a separate dedicated PC / Server is not required. All access to the software is done through your web browser software (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
S2 Security NetBox Network Node
The S2 Security Network Node is expandable from 2 to 14 portals (readers) per Network Node (door controller).
Each standard Network Node allows for seven controller blades. These controller blades allow for card readers, alarm inputs, relay outputs, or temperature probes to be connected to the system.
The MicroNode controllers allows for control of two portals (readers) per controller.
S2 Security NetBox Network Node
The Network Controller contains the software for the NetBox system. One Network Controller is required per system. For the standard system, the controller is a solid state combination board located on the first Network Node of the system. The Network Controller for the NetBox Extreme Controller, Enterprise Controller and Enterprise Ultra Controller is a rack mounted unit separate from the Network Node.
The standard Network Controller system allows for up to 32 Network Nodes, controlling up to 64 portals (readers), with up to 10 concurrent users (administrators).
The NetBox Extreme Controller scales up to 64 Network Nodes, controlling up to 256 portals (readers), with up to 10 concurrent users (administrators).
The Enterprise Controller scales up to 64 Network Nodes, controlling up to 896 portals (readers), with up to 25 concurrent users (administrators).
The Enterprise Ultra Controller allows for up to 256 Network Nodes, controlling up to 3,584 portals (readers), with up to 35 concurrent users (administrators).

HID Compatibility
The S2 Software allows for any standard HID proximity card to be enrolled into the system regardless of bit format or facility code. This allows customers with multiple locations utilizing HID cards to enroll all their cardholders in the system, thus one card can work at all their locations; no need to carry multiple cards anymore.
A single S2 NetBox supports facilities of up to 64 card readers, 500 alarm points, 16 video cameras and 500 temperature points. Larger facilities can be supported with multiple NetBox units. Due to network connectivity and advanced application software, a wide array of special situations can be easily supported, to include: Stand-alone office buildings Multi-tenant office complexes School systems College and corporate campuses Doctors' and other professional offices Biomedical and laboratory facilities Food distribution facilities Utilities and communication remote facilities High-end residences and vacation homes
